  2. Without a doubt, Victory Day is the most significant and important day of the year for the whole world and for Russia particularly. This is the day when the Soviet army defeated the greatest evil known to mankind; the day which still reminds the winners of that nightmare; this is the day for which we owe our forefathers our lives. Therefore, we should remember and honour those who sacrificed their themselves in the name of victory and liberty of people, remember everything, through what they had to go. The main thing is to remember them not only on May 9, but always, every day!

  3. I should say that I haven't ever read something like that article about the Victory Day. I think that with the Independence Day they are the most important holidays in Russia. now we live because in war times our grandfathers and grandmothers died, they gave their lifes for our present day peace sky. For me it's a day for memory. It's a day when I go to the meeting in my native town Egorievsk and at the cemetery lay down the flowers to the common grave. I think that we live when we remember. I agree with Darya that we should remember constantly and thank our relatives for the peace life!

Victory day is the most important holiday in every town and in every family of our vast country. We live now due to the feat of arms of our grandfathers and grandmothers. My great grandfather went to the front at the age of 30,he left his wife and two little children and didn't return home...We have the only letter from him,it is our priceless heirloom. In the letter he asked my great grandmother to take care of her and children. He is a hero for me,I am proud of my great grandfather and other people who sacrificed their lives for our present day peace sky.

  5. So, well, I don’t know what to say about this holiday. Because it is very controversial. Our country becomes absolutely free but at the same time we have lost lots of people in the war. Year by year veterans go out. It is very peaty. I am sure that it will be nice if all the money which was spent on the parade dedicated to the 9th of May will be given to the veterans.
“It is the holiday with tears on eyes”, as we sing in the famous song. I am proud that there are people in my family who were in the Second World War and who came back when it stopped. And though all of them died their deeds are still alive.

  6. Well, Victory Day is the most solemn of occasions, when Russian people remember the Second World War and the day the heroic Soviet Armed Forces defeated Nazi Germany. I live in a small township of Moscow region, but as any other city of our country we have a memorial for those who laid down their lives in the war. And every year all people of my native town assemble at the main square to watch the concert for our veterans. For me, as a daughter of the officer of the Russian Army, this holiday means that we have to remember the value of peace in the modern world and we have to save it for our future generation!
